Our Company

History

TD S.A. is a family owned company with the majority shares held by Mr. Daniel Hes, and minority shares held by Froimovich Co. Group (FCG).

The TD S.A. company was recently founded and both families are recognized in Chile for over 60 years. We have had a wide variety of successful experiences in many key businesses that we consider would be helpful to develop the new brands / products in Chile on a long term basis.

Mr. Hes is part of the Hes family group (German immigrants; 1939), with national recognition in the agri-industrial / export industry, meat and slaughter house industry, and tourism industry (represented for over 30 years the KLM Royal Dutch Airlines; Eastern Airlines and LAP). Our present and most noted interest and participation is in the real estate business. We are looking to diversify our portfolio with other luxury brands, home wares, and interesting products for the Chilean consumer market and other South America countries. We consider this new  formed TD company an interesting opportunity, where we could add value through our highest level contacts in the retail business, and via direct involvement and participation of the Hes family partners.

Froimovich Co. Group (FCG) has been leading the construction and real estate business in Chile for the last 30 years. It has also had positive experiences as real estate partners / investors in other countries such as Argentina and in the U.S.A. (Miami with over 60 residential towers built in Santiago´s downtown, and more than 20,000 units sold, satisfying over 11,000 owners.

Due that all of the units are small apartments (less than 60 square meters), many of the owners are single or recently married couples, who want to live in downtown with an easy way of living, people who give value to simpler lifestyles, and for people who are looking forward to new technologies / trends and brands. In the Hes group we have the possibility to reach them directly / marketing campaigns and we are considered to be a reliable and respectful company.

Our Assets/Capabilities

  • Close relations with Retail Stores:

Additionally we are important customers and have excellent relations with the owners and CEO’s of the major home appliances stores. Those companies are branches of the biggest Chilean retailers / department stores / supermarkets and drugstores, with active presence in other Latin American countries such as Perú, Argentina, Colombia and Brazil. We consider those retailers as strategic point of sales in order to introduce other new brands and products.

  • Active member of “Cámara Chilena de la Construcción”:

The group is an active member of the Chilean Chamber of Builders / Real estate developers (Cámara Chilena de la Construcción), which allows us to reach directly all of the other members, the most important real estate projects, suppliers, financial industry, government actors, among others.

  • Institutional Sales:

Throughout the years and in all the business ventures we have participated in we have created specific sales teams exclusively dedicated to attend to big institutional customers with specific products, special promotions, discounts and payment options. We proudly can mention as our most loyal customers the major Chilean trades and professional chambers, unions and corporations: Colegio Médico de Chile, Colegio de Cirujano Dentistas de Chile, Colegio de Ingenieros de Chile, Colegio de Profesores de Chile, Cámara de Diputados, Ministerios, Fuerzas Armadas y de Orden, Universidades, Municipalidades, etc.

Imports:

We have experience and capabilities in importing different kinds of products from different industries. Our administration and finance teams have been able to manage and support the transactions / operations / on time tracking. We have the best contacts with local and international freight forwarders and custom agencies.

  • Sales / Marketing:

No doubt that one of our most valuable assets is our sales / marketing capability, which is widely recognized and respected in Chile. The family members mentioned above are all MBA graduates, and directly involved in marketing activities. The group is  an important advertiser in local media and has excellent contacts with the most renown advertising and P.R. agencies. We are considered by the public opinion as leaders in innovation and quality. Many of our campaigns we introduced as new ideas, and then were followed by our competitors. We use the highest standards in images / production quality. We have also participated in aid / philanthropic campaigns, issues that have allowed us to position ourselves strongly in the minds of Chilean families.

  • Customer servicing and after sales support:

We truly have always considered this issue as a key part of business. As we have a long term business vision, we have created special separate professional teams dedicated exclusively to our customers after sales requirements. In the real estate business, this department has active presence in our strategic committee weekly meetings, reporting directly to the CEO, has its own budget and specific printing material, own special call-centers and it is evaluated internally and externally (consulting companies) by quality service goals / parameters.

  • Warehousing / Logistics:

The company has its own warehouses / self operated of approximately 5,000 square meters. As we did with IRobot, we would allocate a separate space for the new brands / new products merchandise.

  • Recent Experiences
  • A very successful launching & begginning:

•          We are very happy to report very strong sales in these first weeks; the figures surpassed IRobot ® and our expectations! Because of this successful launching, we have decided to work exclusively with Falabella, who along the way became our strategic partners in defining how best to introduce this product to the Chilean consumer. We launched firstly in their top 4 highest-grossing department stores in conjunction with product placement on their website/ internet (website sales have been positive). Now we are increasing into 6 new stores. Because of such a strong reception to this product, Falabella has already asked us to work with them in Argentina, Colombia, and Peru. We are very excited about this prospect of growth and are presently reviewing and considering their offer.

ROOMBA®

The Roomba is an autonomous robotic vacuum cleaner sold by iRobot. Under normal operating conditions, it is able to navigate a living space and its obstacles while vacuuming the floor. The Roomba was introduced in 2002;[1] as of December 2010, over 5 million units have been sold. Several updates and new models have since been released that allow the Roomba to better negotiate obstacles and optimize cleaning.

SCOOBA®

Scooba is an automated robotic floor washer produced by iRobot. It was released in limited numbers in December 2005 for the Christmas season at $399.99 USD, with full production starting in early 2006. The company introduced a $299 version, the Scooba 5800, in the second half of 2006.[1]

The Scooba uses a special non-bleach cleaning solution made by The Clorox Company that cleans the floors and prevents rust or skidding and has been nicknamed Scooba juice or the newer Scooba Natural Enzyme cleaning solution. The robot preps the floor by vacuuming loose debris, squirts clean solution, scrubs the floor, and then sucks up the dirty solution leaving a nearly dry floor behind. The robot is safe to use on sealed hardwood floors and most other hard household surfaces, but it cannot be used on rugs. Scooba avoids rugs and stairs, and can clean about 200 square feet (19 m2) on a single tank-load of solution.

The Scooba is the second major commercial product made by iRobot, which popularized vacuum robots with the Roomba. The Scooba is available in over 40 countries

CREATE

iRobot Create is a hobbyist robot manufactured by iRobot that is based on the Roomba platform and was introduced in 2007. However, iRobot Create is explicitly designed for robotics development, rather than simply hacking the Roomba. In place of the vacuum hardware of the Roomba, the Create includes a cargo bay which houses a 25 pin port that can be used for digital and analog input and output. The Create also possesses a serial port through which sensor data can be read and motor commands can be issued using the iRobot Roomba Open Interface protocol.

The platform accepts virtually all accessories designed for iRobot’s domestic robots and can also be programmed with the addition of a small “command module” (a microcontroller with a USB connector and four DE-9 expansion ports).
